I just wrapped up the sweetest mini in-home maternity session in Milwaukee with Martha and Jack, and my heart is so full.


Martha and I have been friends since college, and though we haven’t seen each other since the pandemic, it felt like no time had passed. So much has changed since then—she and Jack got married, bought their first home here in Milwaukee, and now they’re expecting a baby boy. And in my own life, I’ve met my fiancé, bought a house, and I’m getting married soon too. It’s amazing how much life has unfolded for both of us.


This entire photography session took place in their Milwaukee home, right inside the baby’s nursery. It was the perfect setting for a natural light maternity session—filled with soft sunlight, sentimental baby details like tiny booties and embroidered blankets, and a calm, cozy atmosphere. The light in the room was absolutely dreamy, and everything came together beautifully for this lifestyle maternity shoot.


Martha was glowing in her pregnancy, and Jack was beaming with excitement. The love between them was so natural and effortless—it made my job as a lifestyle photographer such a joy. I love capturing these intimate, everyday moments that turn into forever memories.


I photographed the session with my 35mm prime lens, which I haven’t used in a while, and wow—what a difference. The tight framing made the session feel even more connected and warm, which is exactly what I aim for in at-home maternity photography. I’m so glad I brought it out again for this one!


Beyond the photos, this session was special on a personal level too. Reconnecting with old friends and witnessing how their lives have grown was incredibly heartwarming. We even chatted about the possibility of doing a newborn photography session once baby Eden arrives!


This session was full of light, love, and laughter—and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it.
